I wanted to revisit the very successful Merino Dress from last Winter, and make a new version for 2011.

Starting with the pattern from the 'Into the Woods' dress from Winter 2010, the first adjustment was to make this version a more 'work friendly' length, so on went 8cm to the hem.

I also added some width to the hem, so that it had more of a ballooned hem when the drawstring is pulled in to wear it.

The sleeves have had a redux and are now longer by a couple of cms and are gathered at the shoulder seam to give some interest and shape to the upper sleeve.

Last year's dress featured a shoulder panel of lace. This year a double layered frill adorns the opposite shoulder instead.

Navy has been a colour often requested by VIP's and friends, so this year's 'Around about midnight' dress is executed in a 180gsm weight, Navy Merino.

The merino selected this year is grown in the South Island of NZ, the fabric is then knitted, dyed and finished in NZ and then the dress is sewn here in Wellington. NZ Made from start to finish!
